The Kafue River Lodge promises an authentic safari sojourn with thrilling game drives and bush walks by expert guides on the border of Kafue National Park. It’s the best of both worlds, with fantastic opportunities for land and river-based activities. The lodge boasts 180-degree river views and a plethora of wildlife is attracted to this water source year-round, with exceptional elephant crossings at certain times of the year.
The Kafue offers outstanding fishing for a wide variety of bream species, pike, and yellowfish. This stretch of river is considered by many to be one of the finest along the entire Kafue and anglers of all skill levels can have incredible fun.
Zambia is well known as the birthplace of the walking safari and at Kafue River Lodge you can head out after an early breakfast and follow the calls of the animals with passionate guides who are eager to share their knowledge about the area and its wild inhabitants. The camp is seasonal and only open annually from 01 March to 31 December.

River Facing Cottage
Each spacious tented chalet offers private decking overlooking the Kafue River, two queen-sized beds, a fireplace an indoor bathroom with a freestanding bath, and an outdoor shower. The lodge is run on solar power and each chalet has plugs for charging equipment.
Facilities
There is a waterhole behind the tented chalets and a hide that the guests can relax in whilst watching the array of birds. The main lounge area is positioned next to the river with a large decking nestled under the trees with lovely views of an island across the channel a perfect place for dining or connecting with other guests.
Dining
Open-air and starlit, the lodge’s dining options allow guests to feel transported into the wilderness. Enjoy dinner overlooking the tranquil Kafue river or coffee around the fire pit, and breakfast near the riverbanks to the sound of birds chirping at sunrise.
