Located in one of the most magical places in Africa, Beho Beho epitomizes the true essence of a luxury African safari. Situated on the slopes of the Namikwera Hill in the remote and wild Nyerere National Park (Selous Game Reserve), Beho Beho Camp overlooks the Rufiji River floodplain and is your gateway to this extraordinary destination.
Discover a unique array of varying biodiversity from riverine forests and miombo woodlands to savannah plains and wetlands. You'll be exploring one of the largest game reserves in the world in your search for big game on foot, by boat, or by open-sided vehicle – the Nyerere is home to some of Africa's largest big game populations and has all the big cats and major predators.
Highlights
Activities
The views are spectacular and the guides are extremely knowledgeable. The elephant next to our breakfast table was both scary and very exciting!
Rooms
Banda
Beho Beho has eight spacious bandas (palm-thatched stone cottages) designed to capture the river's cooling breezes and extend onto a large veranda with great views of the Nyerere wilderness.
The bandas are furnished with king-size beds, Zanzibari day beds, writing desks, and comfortable furniture. The front of the banda can be secured for the night with tented curtains or left open as desired.
Each banda has a separate dressing room which includes a safe and leads into a fully equipped en suite bathroom with twin basins, flush toilet, and an open-air shower. The bathrooms are supplied with Charlotte Rhys toiletries.
Facilities
Enjoy a cooling dip in the camp's crystal-clear pool with its stunning views and then sit back and relax on the camp's main veranda with a drink as you watch animals clustered around the local waterhole.
Dining
Meals at Beho Beho are not confined to the formal dining area or traditional times of the day but are often served in various venues throughout the camp at times that are convenient for you to fully focus on your game-viewing experience.
Sometimes you'll have a snack breakfast on an early game drive, followed by a late bush breakfast or an early brunch, and then an afternoon tea - all so you can maximize your time on safari. Dinners are the main dining event of the day and are enjoyed together as a group around a large table somewhere in or around the camp.
