Set on a bend of the seasonal Luwi River, Nsolo Bush Camp is shaded by enormous mahogany and sausage trees and is located in an area of the South Luangwa National Park, well-known for its abundant wildlife. This small and intimate camp overlooks the riverbed which makes it a perfect spot to view animals making their way to local waterholes. Elephants are spotted regularly and the various resident lion prides use the riverbed as a thoroughfare. The remote river location, beautiful views, game-rich surroundings, and rustic charm of Nsolo Bush Camp make it a haven for nature lovers and wonderful for honeymooners.
Nsolo specialises in walking safaris and guests can explore on foot with the camp manager and guide who has been both researching and conducting walking safaris in the area for over 10 years. Although walking safaris are the focus, daily game drives are also offered and exciting night drives reveal the shy, nocturnal creatures that are rarely spotted during the day.
Highlights
Activities
'Nsolo is one of the most remote bush camps in the South Luangwa wilderness with only four spacious suites and open-air bathrooms... great for the truly authentic walking safari experience.'
Rooms
Standard Chalet
Nsolo’s four open-front thatched chalets are set on raised wooden decks and incorporate surrounding rocks and trees into their design. They also feature a private veranda which provides excellent game-viewing opportunities.
The en suite bathrooms are open to the African sky but are shaded by giant mahogany trees.
Facilities
The 'chitenje' at Nsolo, a traditional thatched living space, consists of a small library, sitting area, bar, and shady dining area.
Watch the sunset with a drink in hand from the raised wooden deck or find a well-positioned chair on the banks overlooking the river.
Dining
Breakfast around the campfire is enjoyed before you embark on your early morning safari, and a deliciously hearty brunch is served on your return to the camp.
A classic high tea is served in time for your afternoon game drive. After your return in the early evening, a three-course meal is served in the dining area or on the banks of the river under the stars.
