Situated in the private Sabi Sand Game Reserve and bordering the Kruger National Park, the Arathusa Safari Lodge lies below a forest of knobthorn trees and has a traditional bush lodge feel. This classic Big 5 destination is known for its rich diversity of animal and birdlife and boasts exceptional sightings of leopards, as well as massive herds of buffalo. Knowledgeable trackers and guides will not only entertain you but deliver an exceptional game-viewing experience as you explore the region on morning and afternoon game drives.
You can also head out with your guide on a bush walk to learn more about the ecology of the area. Relax in the afternoon by the infinity swimming pool or take the opportunity to visit the spa for a range of relaxing and invigorating treatments.

Rooms
Waterhole Facing Suite
Nine thatched, air-conditioned rooms boast excellent views of the nearby waterhole, frequented by the wildlife roaming near the camp. Each has an en suite bathroom with a bath, plus separate indoor and outdoor showers as well as a veranda. The rooms' fabrics are warm and natural and the design is simple yet classically African. Additional amenities in the room include a mini bar, electronic safe, hair dryer, and mosquito net.
Remote Bush Suite
The remaining four luxury suites are located a little further away from the main lodge, within the bush. Boasting fantastic views of the surrounding nature, these suites are perfect for couples in search of more privacy. Similar to the waterhole-facing suites, style and comfort are guaranteed in each room, with the added bonus of a private plunge pool to cool off in on those hot days.
Facilities
Cool off from the heat of the day in the lodge's infinity swimming pool or enjoy a relaxing afternoon at the spa, offering you a variety of professional treatments while overlooking the camp's waterhole.
You can also keep it simple and relax with a good book or cool drink in the lodge's living area, or on the wooden deck outside and watch animals as they come down to the waterhole for a drink. There are no televisions in the rooms at the lodge: this is in keeping with the traditional safari experience that a safari is best experienced 'au naturel'. However, guests who need to keep in touch with the world can send or receive e-mails and faxes from the reception area.
Dining
Meals are served on the wooden deck overlooking the waterhole or, if the weather permits, a three-course dinner is served in the star-lit boma.
Dishes at the lodge are sumptuous affairs of fresh produce, home-baked confectionaries, and first-class venison, beef, and poultry dishes. A wide range of excellent South African wines are on hand to complement your meal.
