Located in the Twyfelfontein region of Namibia's staggeringly scenic Damaraland, this beautifully remote and intimate lodge offers a spectacular Namibian experience. The camp's nine specially designed rooms and one suite are unique and feature outdoor bathrooms, thatched roofs, and spectacular views.
Spend your days on guided nature walks around the Twyfelfontein Conservancy, as well as trips to see the famous Bushman rock art of the area plus the mysterious Organ Pipes and Burnt Mountain. Embark on an excursion to explore this rugged land in search of Damaraland's elephants, elusive creatures who have adapted to the arid conditions of northern Namibia. End each day enjoying total solitude as you sit out on your deck and gaze up at the millions of stars above you.
Highlights
Activities
Blending in with the boulders, this camp makes you feel in touch with nature. If you are looking for somewhere to rejuvenate your body, mind, and soul then this is definitely the place for you.
Rooms
Bungalow
Camp Kipwe has nine twin rooms, each sleeping two people. Each room is built into the landscape with smooth boulders, red basalt rock, and mopane giving them a natural, organic feel.
The outside, semi-open en-suite bathrooms continue this natural look with screed and rock walls. Hot water for the showers is supplied by a wood-burning 'donkey' system.
Special children's tents can be set up on the balcony of one of the chalets, for an adventurous and safe experience.
Facilities
Cool off during the heat of the day with a dip in the small plunge pool before sitting out at the 360-degree viewing point for incredible vistas.
Camp Kipwe also has a safari shop, bar, and a comfortable lounge area.
Dining
Camp Kipwe serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner as well as a wonderful late afternoon tea; expect a fusion of local dishes and international cuisine. Meals can be enjoyed under the dining thatched dome, outside in the boma when dinner is a fire-cooked meal, or on your private wooden deck.
