Translating as ‘The place where the buffalo broke through the bush into the water’, Qorokwe is a private concession in one of Africa’s greatest Edens, the magnificent Okavango Delta. Bordering the renowned Moremi Game Reserve, the Qorokwe Concession holds year-round water sources that support a wealth of wildlife.

Qorokwe Camp consists of nine elegant tented suites and a magnificent main area that overlooks a rich lagoon. The camp is 100% solar powered by thermodynamic panels, which ensures that water is always heated and there is enough power for charging facilities. It also reduces the camp’s carbon emissions.

The area is known for its large predators like lion, leopard, spotted hyena, cheetah, and wild dog – and it is an internationally recognized IBA (Important Birding Area). You may also spot animals such as giraffes, buffalo, lechwe, tsessebe, and impala during game drives, mokoro (traditional canoe) trips, and guided nature walks. And of course, a safari in the Delta is synonymous with superb elephant sightings.

I love this camp’s contemporary safari style, the food, the staff, and the game viewing. An absolute highlight was watching – from a mokoro at sunset – a huge herd of buffalo crosses the water in front of us!

Family Tent

One of the suites is extra spacious to accommodate a family – equipped with two bedrooms, a fireplace, a dining area, and a private plunge pool.

Tented Suite

Qorokwe Camp has nine luxuriously appointed and chic canvas-tented suites, set on raised wooden decks. Each suite has a private viewing deck with an outdoor seating area, an indoor lounge, and creature comforts like mosquito screens, electronic safes, and multi-plug adaptors with USB charging points. Bathrooms are en suite and equipped with showers, beautiful bathtubs, and double vanities.

Facilities

Qorokwe Camp’s core is its refined main area, consisting of a dining space, lounge, library and bar that all look out over the beautiful lagoon. The camp is built on raised wooden platforms, connected by walkways that lead from the tented suites to the main area. Grab a book or a drink and relax in one of the comfortable hanging beds or sun loungers. Cool off in the swimming pool and relax by the inviting fire pit in the evenings.

Dining

Guests can enjoy their meals in the camp’s lovely main dining lounge or on the outside viewing deck, and dinner can be enjoyed under the stars in Qorokwe’s traditional boma. The camp also has its own pizza oven.
