Olduvai Ndogo detail

"Ndogo" means "small" in Swahili - Olduvai's smaller sister is set on the Kiloki-Kopjes plateau and offers a breathtaking view over the vast Serengeti plains. During the migration, hundreds of thousands of wildebeest and zebras graze directly in front of the camp.

The distance between the main camp and Olduvai Ndogo is about one kilometer. Small Masai villages lie halfway between the two camps and guests are invited to visit and learn more about their traditional way of life.

THE CAMP

Set on the plateau of the Kiloki kopjes, approx. 80m higher than the Olduvai main camp, the intimate and exclusive Olduvai Ndogo offers breathtaking views over the Serengeti plains.

Facing northwest, our guests can enjoy spectacular landscapes. During migration months, huge numbers of animals can be observed directly from the camp.

THE TENTS

Eight spacious and stylish decorated tents lie on the flanks of the rock. They offer spectacular views from the private viewing deck over the unique Olduvai area and the endless Serengeti plains. All tents offer en-suite bathrooms (flush toilets, shower, and basin) at the back of each tent.

A special family unit with 2 separate bedrooms is available and Triple rooms can be offered.
24-hour electricity is provided in each tent thanks to our local solar equipment.

PUBLIC AREAS

The camp's central area with a bright and modern decor is located under a large Makuti roof and includes a cosy lounge with a bar and an open restaurant for up to 20 people. Two beautiful terraces and the bar invite our guests to refreshments during the day and beautiful sundowners. The firepit invites for drinks after dinner and pleasant evenings beneath the African sky.

ECO FRIENDLY

The camp is powered by solar energy for hot water and electricity.

Olduvai Ndogo is "plastic-free" and does not use disposable plastic bottles.
Thanks to the latest filter technology used on-site, our guests enjoy pure drinking water.

WALKING WITH THE MASSAI

The official access to the camp (and the best way to experience Olduvai Ndogo) is on foot. Guests walk a little less than one kilometre in the open plains through genuine Massai villages while Massai donkeys will carry their luggage to the camp.
