Featuring a floodlit waterhole that gives its guests an insight into Africa's nocturnal wildlife, Mashatu Main Camp is located in the private Mashatu Game Reserve in Botswana's Tuli Block. A small, intimate but family-friendly camp of only 14 suites, the focus here is on delivering a comprehensive game viewing and cultural experience in the little-visited south-east corner of Botswana. Set out at dawn and dusk with dedicated Tswana rangers and trackers on game drives to spot the famous big game of the region.

Luxury Suite

With only 14 comfortable suites available, there are never more than 28 guests at Mashatu Main Camp. Decorated in an authentic African style, each suite has a double bed and an extra-large single bed together with a seating area comprising a day bed to accommodate families with younger children.

Each suite has an en suite bathroom with a bath and shower, and all are equipped with climate control to keep your environment comfortable at all times. Insect-proof screening on windows and doors keeps out any unwanted visitors.

Facilities

Mashatu Main Camp is elevated around a floodlit waterhole and offers many excellent vantage points from which to view animals as they come down to drink.

The camp has a comfortable lounge and bar area as well as a large swimming pool, a curio shop and conference facilities.

A family-friendly camp, Mashatu has a professional children's programme where young ones will be educated about the environment by trained supervisors and rangers while they catch up on some relaxation time or go for a game drive.

The reserve has initiated several research programmes as part of the protection and conservation of the area. Mashatu Main Camp is the base for this research and you will be offered an insight into these fascinating programmes at the camp's Discovery Room.

Dining

Mashatu Main Camp has an indoor dining area though the camp's sumptuous dinners of fresh, wholesome and African-inspired dishes are usually served around a crackling fire in the enclosed boma and under a canopy of African stars. Your favourite drinks are available at the Gin Trap bar which looks out over the floodlit waterhole.
