Luwi Bushcamp is a seasonal camp (operating between June and October) that overlooks a floodplain with the Luwi River in the distance which offers wonderful views of the wildlife that congregates in front of the camp.
Surrounded by towering mahogany trees, this eco-friendly camp focuses on conservation, aiming to leave as little impact on the surrounding environment as possible.
Luwi is in a remote area of the park, making it an ideal walking destination. Accompanied by a trained guide and an armed ranger, you'll have the chance to experience the bush and wildlife more intimately.
Enjoy the peaceful ambiance of Luwi as you explore this remote area of the South Luangwa National Park.

Thatched Chalet
Luwi has four en suite grass and thatch chalets that have been designed to blend in with the environment. The chalets are rustic yet comfortable and make use of solar-powered lanterns to provide lighting. They offer twin or double beds, draped by a large mosquito net. A more private honeymoon chalet offers couples a larger chalet with its own private access to a patio looking out onto the distant plains. Guests can enjoy private meals here by prior arrangement.
Facilities
The bar area at Luwi Bushcamp is centrally located and offers the ideal place to relax with a refreshing drink while you look out over the lagoon and the wildlife that gathers here.
Visit the hippo hide which overlooks a lagoon and is located just outside the camp. Here you can enjoy exceptional views of the wildlife as well as fantastic photo opportunities.
Dining
There is a diverse and tempting variety of meals prepared throughout the day at Luwi. Breakfasts comprise a buffet of cereals, porridge, toast, tea & coffee served around the campfire. Usually, brunchtime provides welcome sustenance after the morning activities and offers a buffet of salads, hot dishes, and lighter meals.
The afternoon teas offer guests the chance to relax again with a freshly baked cake and beverage before embarking on an afternoon walk or drive. Dinner offers a hearty 3-course meal enjoyed by candlelight under a night sky, with dishes such as fillet and lamb tagines creating a hearty conclusion to a day spent outdoors.
