Situated on the banks of the Kafue River, in the heart of the Namwala Game Management Area, KaingU Safari Lodge offers visitors access to the pristine, unspoiled wilderness of the Kafue National Park. The Park is opposite the Lodge and is accessible via a 10-minute boat trip, making KaingU the ideal destination for those looking for a true African Bush experience.
Not only will guests be able to experience the abundance of wildlife in the Kafue National Park, but they will also be able to take advantage of the Kafue River’s islands, rapids, and channels through a myriad of exciting river-based activities.
KaingU Safari Lodge is owner-run with a huge emphasis on social and environmental sustainability. The lodge is truly minimal impact and a bed/night contribution based on every guest is channeled into providing local education as the lodge management supports a local school. The lodge also supports various wildlife-based organizations within the National Park and Game Management Areas.
ACCOMMODATION
KaingU Safari Lodge’s undivided attention to detail is presented in its unique accommodation. Guests have a choice of 6 tented chalets or the two-bedroomed Family House. The Meru-style tents each overlook the Kafue River and treat guests to en-suite bathrooms and outdoor showers. The Family House’s two bedrooms are both en-suite and the central living area leads out onto a private viewing deck, overlooking the River.
Guests are welcomed in the main thatched area of the lodge. Our friendly staff will tend to your needs as you sit back and relax in our lounge, at the bar, or dining area. The exquisite redwood deck positioned under the forest canopy, above the River, provides the main focal point of the Lodge and provides guests with the ideal place for a late afternoon sundowner, looking out into the African sunset. At night, we light a fire in the fire pit on the deck where you can tell stories of the day’s adventures.
