A host of activities are on offer, affording you the chance to explore the beautiful surrounding landscape via horse or camel safari, mountain biking, day and night drives, or on foot, led by a traditional Samburu guide. And for the little ones, the camp has a warrior training program. Here, they learn how to start a fire, throw a spear, and make a bow and arrow. There’s also a visit to Loisaba Conservancy’s dedicated anti-poaching team, comprising four sniffer dogs and their handlers.

Lodo Springs boasts eight sizeable, airy en suite tented rooms that are custom-designed to emphasize the five-star camp’s sophisticated and contemporary ambiance. Floor-to-ceiling windows bathe the suite in natural light, opening fully to allow nature in so that guests can feel a connection to the surrounding wilderness. Polished wooden floors, stylish modern furnishings, and warm hues create a tranquil atmosphere that lulls guests into a blissful state on return from a day of activity.

Rooms also include a comfortable lounge area, a king-sized bed with great views of the wilderness, and a beautiful open rainfall shower with solar-heated hot water for a refresh after a day of game drives.  The veranda, complete with plush double sunbeds, is perfect for unwinding with a good book.

Facilities

Between game drives in the camp’s custom-built safari vehicles and participating in one of the many fun activities on offer, guests can unwind with a dip in the swimming pool. Found on the main tent’s deck and sporting magnificent views of the plateau below, it’s the perfect place for a midday cool down. Or spend some time browsing the shelves of the gift shop to find some curios to take back home.

Dining

With the understanding that holidays are best enjoyed at one’s own pace, mealtimes at Lodo Springs are flexible. Breakfast can be ordered from an a la carte menu or can be taken in the bush with an accompanying live station. Buffet lunches are available in the afternoon, with the option to have a picnic lunch while on game drives to not miss any of the action. Dinner has a set menu of delicious dishes made of the finest and freshest ingredients, paired with a select list of premium wines. Individual dietary requirements or allergies are catered for when advance notice is given.
