Victoria Falls Safari Club
Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Today, you will experience the 'Smoke that Thunders' on either your own tour or a guided tour of Victoria Falls and the Rainforest. If you've already done this on your first afternoon, then you can choose from a great variety of other activities on offer in and around Victoria Falls. These include a sunset cruise on the Zambezi River (morning or afternoon) or dinner cruise, a helicopter "flight of angels" over the Falls, a canopy tour, white-water rafting, gorge swing and other adrenaline activities. You may enjoy lunch at one of several restaurants at your lodge or around Victoria Falls town including the Vulture Culture Experience at Victoria Falls Safari Lodge, or lunch overlooking Batoka Gorge at the Lookout Cafe. You will complete your day with dinner at either Victoria Falls Safari Club or Dusty Road or one of the other exciting restaurants around Victoria Falls, sharing stories of your day's experiences.
After breakfast, you will be transferred to VFA for your flight to Mana Pools. This exciting flight approximately 2 hours, takes you over the wilds of north-west Zimbabwe, the Zambezi River, including Mana Pool National Park. Your guide from Ingwe Tented Camp will meet you at Mana Main Airstrip and drive you the short game drive into your new tented home for the next 2 nights. You will settle into Ingwe and enjoy a delicious lunch. Depending on time, you will have a mid-day rest time before embarking on an afternoon game drive to explore the renowned Mana Pools National Park, regarded by many as one of Africa's Top 5 National Parks. After a hot shower and campfire drinks, you'll enjoy a 3-course dinner.
Ingwe Pan Camp
You will wake up early to the sounds of birds and Africa and enjoy a light breakfast before embarking on your early morning game drive into the wilds of Mana Pools National Park. One of Zimbabwe's 5 World Heritage Sites, Mana Pools National Park is listed because of "the annual congregation of animals in riparian parkland alongside the broad Zambezi River, constitutes one Africa's outstanding wildlife spectacles." Here indeed, a multitude of diverse wildlife includes lions, leopards, hyenas, painted dogs, elephants, buffalos, elands, zebras, waterbucks, and one of Africa's largest populations of hippos and crocodiles. In addition, the magic of the Zambezi River offers over 400 species of birds into the mix, and its Acacia forests on the floodplain are truly unique and spectacular. Lunch will be served back in camp, then you'll have time for a mid-afternoon siesta before a game drive and sundowners. After a hot shower and campfire drinks, you'll enjoy a 3-course dinner.
After your breakfast, you will be transferred by game drive to Mana Airstrip where you will have a similar flight back and over Hwange National Park to Manga Airstrip. Here you will have a short, relaxed game drive to the camp. Verney's Camp is a well-appointed and intimate luxury tented camp that is situated on its own private concession. The lodge overlooks Verney's waterhole and has a wealth of wildlife that comes down to drink. Hwange National Park has well over 100 mammal species and 400 species of birds, and is famous for its great herds of elephants, comprising a total population of over 30,000!
After arriving at Verney's, you'll enjoy a delicious late lunch and then either relax for the afternoon or head out on an afternoon game drive where you can enjoy sundowners and canapés on the edge of a waterhole. You will end your day with a delicious dinner before tucking into bed to enjoy all the night sounds of the remote Hwange National Park.
Verney's Camp
You'll wake up to the sounds of birds and the smell of coffee as you prepare for an early morning game drive. During the game drive, you might walk in the magical acacia or teak forests in the area, in search of wildlife with your guide, or visit Ngweshla Waterhole. You'll take the opportunity to walk with an armed guide which will allow you to see, smell, hear, and touch the African savannah. In the fast-paced life we all live, walking in the bush helps you to slow down and absorb the wonder of Africa. Zimbabwe's guides are regarded as amongst the very best in Africa and this walking experience with them should not be missed. You'll enjoy the early afternoon relaxing at the lodge before heading out on a late afternoon game drive. Afterward, you'll go back to the camp and have time to freshen up before enjoying snacks and drinks under the stars around the campfire. The resident chef will serve up a tasty 3-course dinner.
You will enjoy an early morning guided walk or game drive on your last day of safari depending on your departure time back to Victoria Falls Airport. After a sumptuous breakfast, you will drive to the Manga Airstrip to catch your flight to Victoria Falls Airport for your connecting flight back home.
