A'Zambezi River Lodge
Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Your guide will meet you at the lodge at 0900hrs and then transfer you to Victoria Falls for your 2-3 hour guided tour. With the expert knowledge of your guide, you will make your way through all the rainforest highlights. The tour will end back at the entrance by 1200hrs. You can have lunch at the Rainforest Cafe if desired (cost not included). Your guide will then transfer you back to the lodge. This afternoon you have the option to choose between an elephant back safari, a lion walk, or a 12-13 min helicopter flight over the falls. In the evening, your guide will meet you at the lodge at 1900hrs to take you to the Boma Restaurant for an amazing African buffet dinner with interactive entertainment. Your guide will be waiting to transfer you back to the lodge after dinner.
After breakfast, you’ll go to Hwange National Park, arriving just in time for lunch. If you’re lucky you will spot large herds of elephants at the lodge’s waterhole. After lunch, your lodge guide will take you on an afternoon game drive in an open 4X4 game drive vehicle. You’ll end with a sundowner somewhere in the bush with the sounds of wildlife all around you. As the sun sets you will then drive back to the lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.
Khulu Bush Camp
Today you will spend the full day game driving in Hwange National Park and on the Khulu Ivory Lodge’s private concession. Khulu overlooks an ancient riverbed, known as a ‘vlei’ in today’s terms. The waterhole in this vlei is known to attract a variety of wildlife from Hwange.
You’ll go on an early morning game drive or walk before taking the short drive to the Hwange Airport for your flight to Mana Pools National Park. Mana Pools is synonymous with the Zambezi River, elephants, lions, remoteness, and wilderness. It is a World Heritage Site filled with a wide range of large mammals, over 350 bird species, and aquatic wildlife. Mana Pools is one of Zimbabwe's most popular destinations. Your flight will take you to a remote airstrip in the heart of the park, where you will be greeted by a variety of wildlife and an ever-smiling guide, who will transfer you to your lodge.
Kanga Camp
Included in your stay are game drives, bird watching, walking safaris, canoeing, fishing, and nights under the stars. Kanga Camp is set in the most remote part of Mana Pools and is not far from Chitake Springs. The camp lies on the isolated Kanga Pan, which is near the Ruckomechi River—or about 15km (as the eagle flies) away from the Zambezi. It is the newest camp in the area (having opened in 2010), but its tents have already been upgraded. The camp can be accessed by either road transfer or chartered flight.
Depending on your international flight time, you will depart Mana Pools and fly all the way back to Victoria Falls Airport, which will conclude your safari. Your charter flight can also take you to Harare International Airport. If you wish to spend another night in either Victoria Falls or Harare, this can be arranged at an extra cost.
