Sandibe Okavango Safari Lodge is set in a true natural wonder, the pristine and unique Okavango Delta. As the world’s largest inland delta, it supports a rich diversity of wildlife on its islands and waterways. A birder’s paradise, some 450 species make their home here. Among the excellent Big 5 game viewing, you may encounter the rare and graceful red lechwe and semi-aquatic sitatunga antelope.

Set in a serene riverine forest on the banks of a permanent river, Sandibe Lodge is characterized by sumptuous décor and skillfully sensitive architecture. The entirely wooden structure for the common areas has been inspired by the curves and scales of a pangolin, one of Africa's rarest and most elusive creatures. Your room is designed to mimic a weaver bird's characteristically shaped and carefully woven nest.

The eight, sensitively designed cottages are set under shady trees. Spacious and tastefully decorated with an en suite bathroom, each cottage boasts a private game-viewing deck overlooking the Santandibe River. The outdoor shower, with its unusual stargazing perspective, is as refreshing as it is charming. Innovative screen walls open up to reveal superb views of the Okavango Delta’s landscape. The cottages are characterized by comfort, serenity, and thoughtful touches.

Facilities

Between game-viewing activities, relax in Sandibe's inviting swimming pool or soak up the sun on the spacious deck. Beautiful views, utterly peaceful surroundings, and warm service combine to create a very special ambiance.

Spend the evenings sharing the natural camaraderie of the campfire in the beautiful, candlelit boma. Listen to the sounds of the African night and swap tales of adventure with your fellow explorers, as you sip drinks from the lodge’s well-stocked bar. There is a large and tastefully stocked safari shop for gifts and essentials.

In-room massages with Africology products are available and helicopter transfers can be arranged. Sandible Okavango Safari Lodge has a small gym.

Sandibe Okavango Safari Lodge serves an alfresco banquet of pan-African cuisine in a communal dining area, perfectly positioned under a canopy of trees. Candlelit dinners may also be served in the shelter of the boma.
