Tau Pan Camp detail

Botswana's vast and unspoiled Central Kalahari Game Reserve is one of the largest and least-visited conservation areas in the world - it's also home to the beautiful Tau Pan Camp, overlooking a permanent waterhole and the seemingly endless Kalahari horizon, and provides the ideal base from which to gain a once-in-a-lifetime Kalahari experience.

A year-round destination, the best time to go to the Kalahari is between early December and April when the warm summer rains rejuvenate the region: many antelope species give birth, flocks of migrant birds arrive and the Kalahari predators - lion, cheetah, and wild dog, brown hyena, jackal and leopard - are in their element. Explore the reserve on 4x4 game drives or guided bush walks with the San Bushmen who will teach you the finer details of survival in this hugely rewarding environment.

Rooms

Standard Room

Tau Pan Camp has nine custom-built rooms, all of which sit under a thatched roof and are raised on elevated platforms with an extended viewing deck.

Each unit features a sitting area, an en suite bathroom with dual vanities, and an outdoor shower for those hot Kalahari afternoons.

Facilities

Tau Pan's large communal thatched hut has a spacious lounge area that flows into the dining area, and both rooms lead out onto a wooden terrace that houses the swimming pool, an open-air boma, and several loungers to relax on in between safari activities.

Dining

Tau Pan Camp offers three delicious African-inspired meals a day. Enjoy a sumptuous breakfast after returning from a game drive, then partake in a lazy afternoon lunch before heading out on a game drive in the afternoon.

Then it's time to experience a stunning Tau Pan candlelit dinner out under the stars or in the elegant dining area.
