Water sports activities to do at Mombasa:  Mombasa is one of the major tourist towns of Kenya, it is known for its white sand beaches, world-class beach resorts, and historical significance. It is the most popular tourist destination in Kenya which is being accessed by road, Railway, Air through Mombasa International Airport, and by sea through the port of Mombasa where large tourist ships dock every year. It is Kenya’s second largest city behind the capital city, Nairobi. It is known for its exotic beauty, stunning beaches with warm waters, and plenty of water leisure activities which makes it a suitable destination for a family safari which can be combined with a wildlife safari. Mombasa is also home to popular national parks and sanctuaries. It is possible to have a marine safari in Mombasa where one will experience the Marine life of Kenya.

Kayaking

Kayaking is a water sport done using Kayaking. It is almost similar to canoeing with Kayaking being distinguished by the sitting position of the paddler and the number of blades on the paddle. A Kayak is a low-to-the-water canoe-like boat in which the peddler sits facing forward with his legs in front using a double-bladed paddle to pull front to back on one side and then the other in rotation.

In Mombasa, this interesting water sports activity is done through Tudor Creek, under the  Nyali  Bridge, and to the English Point Marina which is near Fort Jesus. It is usually done in groups

Windsurfing


It is a wind-propelled water sport which is a combination of both sailing and surfing. It is also known as sailboarding or boardsailing which was started in the 1960s. This is one of the many sports activities done on the Kenyan coast, this is because of the warm currents and the strong breeze off the shores of Kenya which makes it ideal for windsurfing. There are different places along the Kenyan coast beaches where tourists and surfers can enjoy exciting windsurfing activities

Scuba diving


Scuba diving is also referred to as the Queen of the sports activities. Kenya has about 33 wildlife service parks and reserves. Five of these are designated Marine National parks and Reserves, they are Mombasa Marine National Park, Watamu Marine National Park, Kisite Mpunguti Marine Park, and Malindi Marine National Park.  They are the main areas where Scuba diving is done and many dive operators are based in the areas around these National Marine parks with Kilifi being another popular diving area, Water sport activities to do at Mombasa

This activity entails swimming with the help of a snorkel and fins deep into the ocean water. Some of the animals likely to be seen during snorkeling include a wide variety of tropical fish such as clownfish, butterflyfish angelfish, starfish, sea turtles, reef sharks, and dolphins among others

One must be at least 12 years of age and above in Kenya to be allowed to Skydive. One must produce a valid official government photo ID on the day of your skydiving.

Diani Beach is one of the famous skydiving locations on the Kenyan coast. The skydiving experience starts with brief instructions before taking on the skies from 12,000 feet. After gearing up, you board a plane for 15 15-minute scenic flight to catch the wonderful view as you climb to altitude. At the exit point, you’ll be attached to the front of your instructor before moving towards the doorway of the plane . The wind is blasting as you hang your feet outside the aircraft and look at the ground at about 3,600 meters below.

There will be an intense rush as you free-fall towards the earth at a speed of 200km/h. This is the period of pure adrenaline.

At about 5000 feet the main parachute is released and you get a sigh of relief as you enjoy a spectacular 5-minute canopy ride back to the earth's surface. It is believed that nothing on Earth can beat this experience.

Glass Bottom Boat Rides
