Renowned for its exceptional Big 5 game viewing, Ngala Tented Camp offers twice-daily game drives in 4x4 safari vehicles and exciting evening-night drives, sensitive off-roading, and guided bush walks. Activities are led by experienced and knowledgeable guides who will introduce you to the natural wonders of this exclusive private game reserve, which is home to breeding herds of buffalo, elephants, and giraffes as well as predators like leopards, spotted hyenas, and wild dogs. 'Ngala' means 'lion' in the local Shangaan language, and the reserve supports several active prides.

Ngala Tented Camp has only nine luxurious tented suites set on raised platforms with private wooden decks. Each spacious tent has an en suite bathroom with a bathtub as well as an invigorating outdoor shower with mist nozzles. The suites also offer extra-length beds, electric blankets for winter, mini-bars, overhead fans, and air conditioning for summer to ensure maximum comfort during any season.

You can access Wi-Fi in your room and have a relaxing in-room massage. 'Gym in a basket' is available on request.

Facilities

Make use of the camp's lovely guest areas overlooking the Timbavati riverbed, a natural feature that draws wildlife to its tree-lined banks. Surrounded by a timber deck, the contoured lap pool is a peaceful place to relax and escape the heat of the day, as is the spa.

In the evening, you can sit on the viewing deck above the Timbavati riverbed, enjoy a few sundowner drinks, and swap stories with fellow guests.

There is also a massage sala with vistas of the Timbavati, Wi-Fi access throughout (tents included), and a private airstrip for those who prefer to fly in. Children 12 and over can be accommodated at Ngala Tented Camp but guests must be at least 16 to participate in interpretive nature walks or walking safaris.

A private 4x4 safari vehicle for your sole use is available at an extra charge and subject to availability.

Dining

Ngala offers Pan-African cuisine - a blend of traditional and ethnic African recipes and cooking methods with a modern and characteristic flavor.

Private lunch platters can be enjoyed on the viewing decks or at the poolside, and honeymooners will be delighted with Ngala Tented Camp's moonlit bush dinners, served under the African night sky and making for a most memorable dining experience.
