Santorini Villas detail

Inspired by the cobalt-hued waters it shares with the Greek Isles, Santorini is a sprawling, multi-level Grecian villa, complete with a hand-packed dome and access - via a winding staircase - to the pristine beach below.

Situated on its very own stretch of coast just north of the Bazaruto Archipelago gateway town of Vilanculos, this imposing, all-white villa offers unparalleled sea-and-sand views. Surrounded by dense forest and providing guests with the utmost privacy and security, its five bedrooms are ideal for multi-generational groups seeking a vacation at their own pace. The discreet and hard-working staff – including a personal chef and management couple – will ensure that your holiday runs smoothly.

Enjoy outings on Santorini’s exclusive-use boat on the stretch of turquoise water between the white-sand beach just outside your front door and the Bazaruto Archipelago in the distance. Spend time with your private skipper, fishing, water skiing, or snorkeling the pristine coral reefs that teem with fascinating marine life. Those not keen on the water can undertake exciting beach picnics on nearby islands, horse riding, or unique camel safaris. Back at your home-from-home, cool off in one of the two swimming pools while your chef grills freshly caught Dorado on the barbeque and the stars slowly come out to play.

Rooms

Banque Suite

Named after a Greek island in the southern Aegean Sea, Santorini’s style incorporates tranquil blues and whites, large arched windows, comfortable lime-washed furniture, and tile-and-glass mosaics.

The main house has five en suite bedrooms, each named after an element of Mozambique: you can stay in the Santa Carolina, Bazaruto, Banque, Magaruque, or Benguerra suites.

Each air-conditioned bedroom is very spacious with glass sliding doors that lead out onto a private patio, affording you wonderful ocean views. With a separate lounge area, the main bedroom has a king-sized bed and enjoys a secluded location on the villa’s upper level. Its en suite bathroom features an enormous shower, double vanity, and a separate toilet.

The second and third bedrooms are both furnished with queen-sized beds and offer sea views ideal for sunrise. The en suite bathrooms have a separate toilet but no bathtub.

The fourth bedroom is on the ground level and features a queen-sized bed and extended storage area. The en suite bathroom has a double vanity but no bathtub.

The fifth bedroom has either two single beds or two sets of bunk beds, sleeping four children. The room can also be made up with a king-sized bed for adults. The en suite bathroom has a spacious walk-in shower.

Other room types:

There are two other accommodation options at Santorini:

The Chapel and Villa de Praia. The Chapel is ideal for couples or honeymooners. It has a single bedroom, a private pool, and a dedicated butler who will ensure cocktails, snacks, and seafood barbeques are on tap.

Villa de Praia has three en suite bedrooms, making it perfect for families. Once again, the views of the ever-changing Indian Ocean are exquisite in every direction and the swimming pool is solar-heated in winter (about June to September).

Facilities

The fully air-conditioned villa sleeps a maximum of 14 guests in five beautifully appointed en suite bedrooms. In addition to being completely secure with undercover parking, Santorini has a guarded and gated entrance. A 4x4 vehicle is available for your private use as well as a skippered boat for excursions to some of the best fishing and diving spots in the world.

The villa boasts interior and exterior living spaces, including a lounge, four dining areas, and two decks with a wind-protected courtyard that is ideal for alfresco meals on sultry evenings. There is satellite television and a library in the media room as well as a computer with Internet access.

In the courtyard is the larger of two indigo swimming pools (the front deck has an ocean-facing martini pool that is the perfect spot for the grown-ups sundowners) as well as a gas barbeque and pizza oven. The lower deck is ideal for private massages or spa treatments and is also a beautiful spot for romantic candlelit dinners. The villa boasts two kitchens: one for the resident chef to create your meals and the other for guests should they wish to prepare their snacks or help themselves to a drink.

Beach picnics, horse riding, camel safaris, and other activities can also be arranged by any member of the efficient villa management team.

Dining

Every meal of the day can be prepared by your private chef. Whether it is fresh fish caught from your private boat or a complex Swahili-inspired specialty dish, menus and dining times are completely flexible. Or visit a local restaurant for piri-piri prawns and Mozambican beer one sunny afternoon and have a beach picnic on a nearby island on another.
