Singita Serengeti House detail

Basking on the slopes of Sasakwa Hill in the Serengeti's sprawling Grumeti Reserve, Singita Serengeti House offers discerning travellers an unsurpassed safari experience.

Elegant and refined, the beautiful villa offers up to eight guests a relaxed and private retreat in which to soak up both the incredible natural surroundings and the drama of the Great Migration.

Four exquisitely appointed en suite bedrooms with private verandahs promise the ultimate in luxury and comfort. Spacious, elegantly decorated living spaces flow onto a smooth timber terrace overlooking a secluded waterhole while a private swimming pool and tennis court offer opportunities to relax and work out. Enjoy pampering spa treatments in the privacy of your villa or relax on a sun lounger with a long, cool drink as you gaze out over the teeming plains.

With a private guide and vehicle at your disposal, game drives are conducted to your wishes. Game viewing is excellent all year round but it is from June to August that the region hosts the greatest natural show on earth as the wildebeest herds roll in for the river-crossing season. Style & Décor

Game viewing takes on an elegant grandeur at Singita Serengeti House. Contemporary Afro-chic décor echoes an ‘Out of Africa’ feel with large sofas, open fireplaces, leather drums and clay urns catching the eye. Four-poster beds with crisp white bed linen and billowing mosquito nets look out over the Serengeti plains, while spacious bathrooms feature oversized baths and walk-in showers. Soft sofas recline in the shade of a deep, cool verandah that flows seamlessly onto a wooden deck and inky-indigo pool. Rich, natural textures mingle with creamy tones to create a graceful yet comfortable ambience, while subtle, sun-bleached hues reflect the surrounding grasslands.

Neighbourhood

Singita Serengeti House is situated in the private Singita Grumeti Reserve, 350,000 acres of untouched wilderness that forms part of the Serengeti-Mara ecosystem. Created by the Tanzanian government in 1994 to protect the annual wildebeest migration and indigenous biodiversity of the region, the reserve manages several conservation and community-based projects to ensure its sustainability. Perfectly situated on the renowned migratory route, Singita Serengeti House enjoys front-row seats to nature's most spectacular show.

Suitability

This exclusive-use villa is ideal for families and friends looking for a relaxed, crowd-free and care-free safari in one of Africa's greatest reserves. Private, tailor-made activities make Singita Serengeti House perfect for travellers who want to explore in their own time and on their terms.

The best time to visit

Such is the density and variety of wildlife in the Serengeti that Singita Serengeti House is a great holiday destination all year round. November to March sees the short rains with quick and refreshing downpours each day; heavier rains occur between April and May. The best time to visit for the most dramatic game viewing is from June to August when hundreds of thousands of wildebeest arrive in the Grumeti to begin their perilous river crossings back into the Masai Mara.

Special Notes

Singita Serengeti House lies within the malarial zone so it is recommended that you consult your doctor for advice on medication before travelling.

With privacy and flexibility at its core, days of adventure and relaxation in this epic wilderness are tailored to your interests and tastes, ensuring a special personalised experience.

Spacious en suite bathrooms, designed almost as luxurious extensions to each bedroom, feature deep bathtubs, lavish outdoor showers and terraces offering magnificent views.
