Style & décor

Each villa is built around a private central courtyard that is entered into through antique doors. Kili Villas strikes a careful balance between rustic and sophisticated; elegant and cosy. Textures run the gamut of stone-packed walls and cool white mosquito nets while the sitting areas are laid out under exposed wooden beams and warmed by open fireplaces. The comfortable sofas, chairs and 4-poster beds are bolstered by occasional pops of colour in the form of scatter cushions, tapestry rugs, punched lanterns and chandeliers. The emphasis is firmly on laidback airiness.

Neighbourhood

Kili Villas are within easy reach of Arusha, the gateway to some of Tanzania’s top game areas like Arusha and Tarangire National Parks. With splendid views of Mounts Meru and Kilimanjaro, as well as the Maasai Steppe, Arusha is also the centre of Tanzania’s coffee-growing industry – you are unlikely to savour a fresher cup of coffee than here. In addition to plantation tours, Arusha is home to the sparkling Tanzanite Museum and a thriving Maasai Market. Nearby Lake Duluti is ideal for canoeing and hiking.

Suitability

Each sleeping eight guests in four en suite bedrooms, Kili Villas best suites to large multi-generational families or groups of friends travelling together for a special celebratory holiday.

The best time to visit

General game viewing in the Serengeti and Tanzania's other parks is at its peak during the June to October dry season. Mount Kilimanjaro is best climbed either between July and October or January to March, Game viewing is at its best in the dry winter months between July and October, which is also the best time of year to tackle summiting Kilimanjaro. January to March is also a good time of year to hike Kili.

Guest bedrooms
