Offbeat Olare Orok Mobile Camp detail

Staying in mobile camps in the Maasai Mara, Offbeat Riding Safaris provides some of the best riding safaris in Africa accompanied by expert riding guides. Your third and fourth nights will be spent at Olare Orok mobile camp.

  • Camping in beautiful and remote corners of Kenya
  • Galloping over the plains alongside the game
  • Drinks around the campfire each evening to mull over the day's adventures
  • The horses are well-schooled thoroughbred and thoroughbred crosses

After leaving Olare Lamun you will have embarked on the longest ride of the trip to get to your next mobile camp, Olare Orok. During your ride in-between camps you will have fantastic opportunities to get close to some of the amazing animals that the Mara has to offer such as herds of zebra, giraffe, topi, and even chances of seeing some elephant and buffalo. Olare Orok is on the edge of the Masai Mara Game Reserve and from this camp you may even hear hyena and lion vocalizations at night.

The following day will allow for a full day of morning and afternoon rides with the option of driving into the park for some fantastic wildlife photographic opportunities. The tents used on mobile safaris are spacious 10ft by 9ft tents with twin camp beds, mattresses, sheets, and blankets. Towels, soap, and torches are provided and there is a gas lamp and hurricane lamp in each tent. In addition, each tent has a private long drop toilet, and bucket showers are always available

Offbeat Riding Safaris cover a range of locations from the Maasai Mara in the south of Kenya to Laikipia in the north and can also incorporate Amboseli National Park.

8.5 hour international flight. You will be collected from your Nairobi hotel or directly from the airport in the morning and transferred to Wilson Airport for a flight to Siana Springs, in the Maasai Mara. It is a beautiful flight passing over the fertile Kikuyu Highlands before reaching the Great Rift Valley. You fly across the volcano-studded floor of the Rift before reaching the Loita Hills and Siana Springs Airstrip. You will be met by your guide and there will be a 1-hour drive to camp.
