Itinerary (Day by Day)

  • Day 1: Arrival in Arusha
  • Upon your arrival at the airport, a Signature Safaris representative will greet you and escort you to your accommodation in Arusha. If your arrival allows, you'll have a chance to unwind and get ready for the extraordinary adventure ahead. Arusha, bustling and vibrant, serves as a crucial hub for safari expeditions in northern Tanzania, welcoming travelers on their journey.

    Accommodation: Ngare Sero Mountain Lodge

Meals Planned: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

  • Day 2: Horse Riding Activity & Forest Hike
  • After an early morning breakfast, you will start with nature walks where you will explore the fifty acres of forest, lake, and beautiful gardens which will reveal an array of indigenous and exotic flora and fauna. Cold water springs rising in the forest feed a crystal clear lake home to many kinds of frogs, freshwater crabs, and fish including barbel, sword-tails, and trout. Troops of Sykes monkeys and black and white colobus monkeys are to be seen in the forest. This rich habitat attracts a great diversity of bird species. If you are a herpetologist you will enjoy the species diversity along the lake shore. After that, you will proceed with a 1-2 hour horse ride and lunch will be prepared at the lodge where you will relax after that or if you would like additional activities, we can arrange that for you.

    Accommodation: Ngare Sero Mountain Lodge

Meals Planned: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

  • Day 3-4: Arusha – Tarangire National Park
  • Following an early breakfast, your safari guide will pick you up from your accommodation and embark on a journey to Tarangire National Park. The drive, approximately two and a half hours long on well-maintained tarmac roads, leads to the park named after the Tarangire River, a vital water source for wildlife, earning its nickname, the ‘river of warthogs’. This sanctuary is renowned for its elephant herds frequently gathering along the riverbanks. Other wildlife such as giraffes, bushbucks, and hartebeests are also common sights, closely shadowed by predators like lions and leopards. Tarangire boasts an unparalleled variety of breeding bird species. Among its striking features are the colossal and ancient Baobab trees, some believed to have stood for over a millennium. Lunch will be enjoyed at a scenic picnic spot within the park. After an exhilarating game drive, you'll transit to your accommodation.

You will spend 2 nights in Tarangire Tree Tops and 2 days Game Drive inside Tarangire National Park.

Accommodation: Tarangire Tree Tops by Elewana

Meals Planned: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

  • Day 5: Serengeti National Park
  • Following breakfast, you'll ascend into the cooler realms of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, with a captivating stop at the breathtaking Ngorongoro Crater en route. Continuing through the conservation area, you'll transit to the Serengeti, accessing its southern reaches. The Serengeti is an awe-inspiring expanse, renowned for its vast open grasslands offering prime wildlife viewing opportunities. While teeming with diverse wildlife, it's most famed for the annual Great Migration. Witnessing vast herds of wildebeests, zebras, and antelopes following a cyclic pattern in search of fresh grazing is a spectacle like no other. The migration occurs year-round; it's simply a matter of knowing where to look. Depending on the timing of your visit, you might be fortunate enough to witness one of nature's 'Seven Wonders'. You'll enjoy a picnic lunch amidst this natural wonderland and spend the night at a luxurious lodge in Central Serengeti.

    Accommodation: Melia Serengeti Lodge

Meals Planned: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

  • Day 6-7: Full Day in Serengeti National Park
  • Dedicated entirely to exploring the Serengeti, this day is reserved for exhilarating game drives. The Serengeti teems with a rich array of wildlife, from graceful impalas and imposing buffalos to stealthy crocodiles and submerged hippos. Amidst its iconic landscapes, the opportunity to encounter apex predators is ever-present; sightings of majestic lions, sleek cheetahs, and elusive leopards are not uncommon, offering a truly transformative experience. You have the option of embarking on both early morning and late afternoon game drives, punctuated by a return to camp for a leisurely lunch. Alternatively, you can opt for a full-day game drive, relishing a picnic amidst the park's scenic splendor.

  • Day 8: Ngorongoro Crater to Karatu
  • Following breakfast, you'll embark on a drive to the cooler realms of Ngorongoro Conservation Area. As you approach Ngorongoro Crater, it unveils a scene reminiscent of a forgotten world. Enclosed within its steep volcanic walls lies an untouched wilderness, featuring vast savannahs, patches of acacia woodland, and shimmering lakes and swamps. Formed millions of years ago by a volcanic eruption and subsequent collapse, the crater spans an area of 260 km². Renowned for its geological wonders, it also serves as a natural sanctuary harboring some of the densest populations of large mammals on the African continent. Upon descending into the crater, you'll find yourself amidst herds of wildebeest, zebra, gazelle, and over 500 species of birds. This sanctuary offers unparalleled opportunities to spot the endangered black rhino. Lunch will be enjoyed at a picturesque picnic site on the crater floor. Following your game drive, you'll journey back to your accommodation in Karatu.

You will also get a chance to taste local beer and also a Swahili cooking lesson.
