Itinerary (Day by Day)

  • Day 1: Arrive for the Uganda fly-in Safari
  • Welcome to Uganda! On arrival, you will be met and greeted at the Airport by a Moonlight Tours Expedition driver-guide who will be your Driver for the safari, and then transfer to your hotel for an overnight.

  • Day 2: Fly to Murchison Falls National Park
  • Transfer to Entebbe airport for a flight to Murchison Falls National Park, on landing at Pakuba or Bugungu airstrip, meet and greet with your Luxury Uganda Wildlife Safari guide waiting for you and transfer to the lodge.

    Murchison Falls National Park, is one of the oldest parks in Uganda. First gazetted as a game reserve in 1926 Murchison Falls Park is located in the northern end of the Albertine Rift Valley Hosting over 76 species of mammals and 451 species of birds. It is also bisected by the Victoria Nile which is 45m over the remnant rift valley wall, creating the spectacular Murchison Falls.

    The river offers a great opportunity for a game drive and the regular visitors to the riverbanks include elephants, giraffes, and buffaloes, while hippos, Nile crocodiles, and aquatic birds are permanent residents. You may go for an evening game drive or decide to relax at the lodge.

  • Day 3: Murchison Falls
  • Early morning game drive in the park searching for the animals, major species likely to be sited on the game drive include elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, kobs, and on a lucky day, even a lion can be sited.

    After lunch go for an afternoon Luxury boat cruise to the bottom of the falls. After the boat trip, you may get a chance to visit the top of the falls and hike along the falls course. This is a rewarding adventure as the hike is relative and takes you along the waterfalls through a forested hill with great scenic views of the waterfalls.

  • Day 4: Fly to Kibale Forest National Park
  • This day starts with a morning breakfast and a transfer to the airstrip for a flight from Murchison Falls National Park to Kasese Airstrip. Meet a valiant Safaris guide who will transfer you to Kibale Forest National Park. Depending on the time you arrive in Kibale, visit the crater lakes and hike to the top of the world or relax at the lodge. The Kasenda craters is one of the major highlights of the Kibale forest conservation area. You will get a unique opportunity to explore this area comprising of very old volcanic features.

  • Day 5: Chimpanzee tracking
  • Kibale Forest has over 1,450 individuals (Chimpanzees) protected within the park. At Kanyanchu, a community of chimpanzees has been habituated since 1991, allowing visitors an outstanding opportunity to Track these apes in their natural Habitat.

    Tracking starts at 7 a.m. with a briefing at Kanyanchu Park headquarters where you will be allocated rangers to take you to the forest. An advanced team already in the forest keeps tracking the chimps and communicates with your ranger on the radio call. Tracking can last for 2 to 4 hours depending on how far the chimps could be feeding. In the afternoon visit Bigodi swamp, a swamp walk will reward you with a great experience hence contributing to the community in the end.

    This is a community project aimed at improving the livelihoods of the local people, a local guide will lead you on a developed 4.5km trail through the swamp for approximately 3 hours where you can find several bird species and primates.

  • Day 6: To Queen Elizabeth National Park
  • Morning relaxed drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Kazinga channel is our first stop, right in the park, the channel connects Lake George to Lake Edward. An afternoon launch cruise on the Kazinga channel will give you great views of several games including Hippos, Buffaloes, elephants, and birdlife that Queen Elizabeth National Park has to offer, off the boat cruise and continue with an evening game drive in the park before returning to your lodge for an overnight.

  • Day 7: Queen Elizabeth
  • Morning game drive and transfer to the Ishasha sector of the park for the Luxury Uganda Wildlife Safari game drives. This sector has the largest population of wildlife in the park compared to the Mweya and Kasenyi sectors. Game drive searching for tree climbing lions: on a lucky day you can see several prides resting in the branches of fig trees..

    Ishasha Wilderness Camp

  • Day 8: Ishasha Sector to Bwindi
  • Morning game drive in the Ishasha plains to increase your chances of seeing the endangered species of lions and a leopard depending on how lucky you are you may come in sight with these big cats, before transferring to Bwindi Gorilla Park arriving for lunch relax at the lodge contemplating on the Gorilla Trekking adventure the next morning.

  • Day 9: Gorilla Trekking Experience
  • Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park is located in south-western Uganda edge at the edge of the great East African Rift Valley. It is home to over 400 species of mountain gorillas about half of the world’s population. Many of these are habituated in families that are daily visited by tourists. The forest is also home to over 350 species of birds and 400 flora species.

    Gorilla trekking starts at 8 a.m. After a briefing at the park headquarters, you will trek through the dense steep forest searching for the gorillas depending on where they were seen making nests the previous evening. The trekking can last 2-7 hours depending on how soon you find the gorillas; this is influenced by the location where they stayed overnight. Trekking can be a tasking adventure, but coming to a facial close-up with these close relatives to humans is a reward worthy to earn.

  • Day 10: Departure
  • The last day of your safari starts with a transfer from Bwindi Forest Park to Kihihi Airstrip for a flight to Entebbe. Depending on the time of your international flight, you may take a morning or afternoon schedule out of Bwindi, arriving at Entebbe in time to check in for your connecting flight back home.

CANCELLATION

·40% Deposit payable upfront. The remaining balance is payable 45 days prior to trip departure. Free cancellation up to 30 days prior to departure, but the 40% deposit paid is non-refundable. No refund applicable within 20 days of departure.

PAYMENT

A deposit of 40% is required when booking this tour. The remaining balance will be charged 45 days prior to departure. For any bookings within 30 days of departure, the full tour amount will be charged upon booking.
