Set in the Chobe Forest Reserve just outside the Chobe National Park, Ngoma Safari Lodge has an elevated view of the legendary Chobe River and game-rich Caprivi floodplains. The classic thatched lodge, swimming pool, and various viewing decks are superbly placed amongst magnificent baobab trees to best showcase the magical scenery. Game drives in the Forest Reserve or Chobe National Park take place each morning and afternoon although a full day can be spent game viewing in Chobe and on the Chobe River with a picnic lunch in a wild and beautiful spot.

Game viewing in Chobe is exceptional during the dry winter months of July - October. Moreover, being based in the Forest Reserve allows guests to enjoy guided walking safaris and night game drives, two activities not allowed in the national park. Ngoma Safari Lodge is a member of a community trust established to help the local community benefit from tourism and resource management. Visit the Mabele Village or the village's primary school for an opportunity to interact with the local community.

I love the expansive views over the floodplains, especially when the river is full and the small touches from a very hospitable team made me feel a sense of luxury but in an understated way. It is a little further to access from the airport and boat jetty but it's worth it for the views, privacy, and lack of other vehicles when driving in the otherwise busy park.

Suite

Each of the eight luxury suites enjoys unparalleled views of the teeming floodplains that stretch down to the Chobe River. Watch for animals below from your river-facing veranda and private plunge pool.

Each air-conditioned thatched chalet has a mosquito net-swathed bed and a luxurious en suite bathroom and outdoor shower.

Two of the suites have Indian day beds that easily convert the rooms into triples - ideal for parents with a young child.

Facilities

The spacious wood and thatch main lodge leaves the sides of the lounge, dining area, and bar open to let in the incredible views, and the viewing decks and little splash pool are cleverly built into the surroundings.

A wifi internet connection is available in the main lodge area and there is a shop for souvenirs of your safari.

Beautifully presented meals are served to overlook the Chobe River hinterland in the lodge’s dining area, while starlit dinners on your private veranda are often arranged for romantic occasions or just for a special treat.
