Indulge in the heart of Zambia’s premier wilderness, the South Luangwa National Park, on this soul-stirring journey that promises a safari experience like no other. This park covers an area of approximately 9,050 square kilometers, making it one of the country's largest and most biodiverse wildlife reserves. It’s famous for its high concentration of leopards and lions, offering exceptional opportunities for predator sightings. The Luangwa River, flowing through the park, is a lifeline for both the wildlife and the local communities, providing essential water resources. The park's network of unspoiled ecosystems, with woodlands and grasslands, allows for diverse wildlife experiences and opportunities for guided walking safaris, showcasing the raw beauty of the African wilderness. South Luangwa is not only an ecological treasure but also a place where responsible tourism plays a crucial role in preserving its natural heritage.
Your adventure begins at Mfuwe Lodge, where you'll discover the untamed beauty of the African bush. One of Mfuwe Lodge's distinct features is the regular passage of elephants right through the lobby during mango season. Mfuwe is set around two lagoons and is shaded by ebony and mahogany trees - the ideal setting to ease into South Luangwa life. The next leg of your sojourn is a stay at Kapamba Bushcamp, a haven of seclusion nestled on the banks of the Kapamba River. Here, time seems to stand still, allowing you to immerse yourself in the tranquil sounds of nature and the beauty of the African landscape. You'll have the privilege of watching hippos laze in the water, and, if you're lucky, catch a glimpse of the elusive leopard on the prowl.
