The hotel offers a variety of accommodations and amenities designed to provide comfort and convenience for guests—the starting point for a horseback safari. After a rest, Lunch will be served and you will have some time to relax before you meet your horses and set off on an evening ride.

  • Early morning after your breakfast, you will be transferred to Arusha National Park from where we soon will depart on horseback. Expect to encounter buffalo, zebra, giraffe, antelope, and more at the “Little Serengeti” a plain area in Arusha National Park. You will stop at Saddle Picnic and then continue with a ride towards Meru, passing the original home of the famous White Huntress “Margarete Trappe”. Find your mobile camp set up in the middle of the fantastic setting of this remarkable mountain. Enjoy a hot shower and delicious meal and go sleep with the stars that are visible from your pillow, and the night noises of Africa that are the background to your sleep. Nothing brings the experience of Africa closer.

    Accommodation: Kaskazi’s fly camp

Meals Planned: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

  • Day 3: Arusha National Park.
  • Wake up with a cup of hot tea in your tent. After breakfast, head off to the buffalo glade where these massive animals can be watched excitingly close whilst they are grazing or resting. Watch out for giraffes and antelope, as well as warthogs which feel most comfortable in the closeness of a buffalo herd. Back at camp for lunch and a little rest, thereafter change horse against a vehicle and drive to the Momella lakes. The first impression is pink flamingo flocks shimmering from far away. Hippos may be seen and there are good chances to watch other games near the water edge such as buffalo, giraffe, zebras, wildebeest, and also some smaller species. The “Fig Tree Arch”, is a well-known landmark of Arusha Park, a natural feature created by assorted animals and birds. A few meters further there is a breathtaking view over the West Kilimanjaro area and Mt. Kilimanjaro glowing in Africa’s evening sun.

    Accommodation: Kaskazi’s fly camp

Meals Planned: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

  • Day 4: Visit waterfalls and track more Games from horseback.
  • Africa is more beautiful in the morning, enjoy your breakfast and get on the horse ready for the adventure. Descend to the great Tululusia Waterfall at the base of Mt. Meru. Then visit the Momella plains and through dry forest and savannah where we look forward to seeing giraffes, buffalo, antelope, and other game. Later on, get your lunch while enjoying a stunning 360-degree view. On clear days you can see Mt. Kilimanjaro, Mt. Meru, Masailand in the South and the ecosystem of the Momella lakes a bit further away. After your hot lunch, continue with a ride to the small Lake Longil a little further away. The place is full of hippos and buffalo and most probably we will find some hippos having an interesting look at our horses. Soon we will arrive at our mobile camp at the Ngongongare site, located close to a spring and with lots of evidence in and around the camp indicating that we might expect a nocturnal visitor.

    Accommodation: Kaskazi’s fly camp

Meals Planned: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

  • Day 5: Track games.
  • After your breakfast, board a vehicle and drive along the rim of the Ngurdoto Crater. The diameter of this crater is approximately 3 km and is the ideal habitat for buffalo as it consists of year-round pastures and a lush swamp that offers perfect buffalo wallows and a reliable water source and place to hide. After breakfast, pack up again and back on the horse turn south, riding mostly downhill through the thick forest. keep your eyes open and all senses alert as this is again a favorite forest for elephants and buffalo. A bit further a beautiful trail through the forest has been hacked through dense bush and forest to be used for the horses, leading to the “Little Serengeti” that will provide you with the picture to stay in your memories. The bush surrounding the Little Serengeti offers a perfect feeding ground for the elephants and we will spend some time tracking the giants. We will get back to the camp and that will not as the end of your tour. After washing away the dust we can celebrate our great adventure with a fantastic meal.
