Climb through diverse ecological zones—rainforest, moorland, and glaciers—on the scenic Sirimon–Chogoria route, known for its breathtaking scenery and fewer crowds. The climb culminates at the 4,985-meter-high Point Lenana, offering dramatic sunrise views over the African plains.

Depart Nairobi after breakfast for a scenic 4–5 hour drive to Sirimon Gate, where the Mount Kenya climb begins. After park formalities, hike a short distance to Old Moses Camp (3,300m) through the lower montane forest. This first night helps you acclimatize gently.

Today’s hike takes 6–8 hours through the Moorland Zone, with panoramic views, giant lobelias, and alpine vegetation. Arrive at Shipton’s Camp, nestled beneath dramatic peaks including Batian and Nelion. Evening acclimatization walk available.

Rise before dawn for the final push. Begin your summit bid at 3:00 AM, reaching Point Lenana just in time for a spectacular sunrise over the African plains. After celebratory photos and breathtaking views, descend on the Chogoria route to Mintos Camp for a well-earned rest.
