Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be met by a Moonlight Tours Expedition representative at the Air Bridge/entry of the terminal building and bus drop-off point, who will assist you and your family through immigration and customs. From there they will help you with your luggage and escort your family to the pickup area. Please note, as per airport regulations, representatives are not permitted to hold a paging board – Moonlight Tours Expedition representatives are recognizable by their uniform labeled ‘Moonlight Tours Expedition’. A member from the Moonlight Tours Expedition team will then collect you and your family from the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport pickup area and drive you to Hemingways Nairobi for your one-night stay. Kenya’s capital city Nairobi is one of the largest and most influential cities in Africa and is recognised as a commercial and financial regional hub. If time allows, today is a good day to visit the Daphne Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage*. If your family was able to adopt an elephant before your travels, now is also the perfect opportunity to meet him or her. Here you will be able to witness the heroic efforts of the dedicated team who rehabilitate orphaned elephant calves and other vulnerable animals. This extraordinary place plays a pivotal role in protecting the wilderness and offers a beautiful experience. Enjoy the rest of your day a leisure, with dinner at the Hemingways Nairobi.

After breakfast, a member from the Moonlight Tours Expedition team will collect you and your family from Hemingways Nairobi and drive you to Wilson Airport for your flight to Kichwa Tembo Airstrip to begin your Masai Mara adventure. The Masai Mara National Reserve is an unforgettable game reserve due to its abundance of wildlife and spectacular landscapes. With gently rolling hills and wide open plains, it is the quintessential African safari experience. Expect to encounter large numbers of animals year-round, with big herds of elephants, buffalo, and other plains game. It is also common to see predator interaction. Over the next few days take your time exploring this wilderness area, reawakening your safari soul during your two-night stay at &Beyond Bateleur Camp. Discuss your preferences with your dedicated Moonlight Tours Expedition guide and set the pace for your family safari adventure. A private safari vehicle is at your family’s disposal. After breakfast at the lodge, your guide will drive you and your family to Kichwa Tembo Airstrip for your flight onward to Wilson Airport, and then to Lewa Airstrip to Lewa Wilderness. Lewa Wilderness is situated on the edge of one of Kenya’s most private game sanctuaries, the wildlife-rich Lewa Conservancy, and is home to the largest concentration of Grevy zebra in Africa. Adventure awaits during your three-night stay at Lewa Wilderness, and includes game drives into the Lewa Conservancy, camel rides, nature walks, horseback rides, tennis, and cultural visits to a nearby Maasai village. Those in need of some leisure time can also simply relax with a book in the lodge’s beautifully manicured garden or take a refreshing dip in the lodge swimming pool. A private safari vehicle is at your family’s disposal.

Over the next two days, take the time to explore the Lewa Conservancy. You can pick and choose from the following experiences: Join an enlightening cultural excursion to a Maasai cultural homestead on Ngwesi, the neighboring wildlife scheme that the lodge has helped to establish, Go on an educational excursion to one of the selected neighboring villages and schools as well as visit the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy HQ. Take a flight to Rutundu, a beautiful montane farm on Mt Kenya that offers superb trout fishing, Revel in daily customizable safaris that will educate the whole family on the area’s flora, fauna, animal behavior, conservation, and history, For avid birders ask your guide to take you on an early morning walk about the lodge garden to find the resident birds, Ask your guide to take you on a walk either along the river bed or for the more enthusiastic walkers, over the hills, Enjoy a camel back safari with your Maasai guide
It’s time to hit the beach!
After your last breakfast in the bush, your guide will drive you and your family to Lewa Airstrip for your onward flight to Wilson Airport. From there, you will connect to your flight from Wilson Airport to Diani Airstrip. Protected by an offshore barrier coral reef, Kenya’s south coast is famous for its beautiful and safe beaches, as well as spectacular diving, fishing and surfing opportunities. Upon arrival at Diani Airport, you will be met by a friendly representative who will drive you by private transfer to Alfajiri Villas. Enjoy the beach-break during your four-night stay at Alfajiri Villas in the Beach Villa. Meet with your villa manager to discuss your plans, and the experiences for your family would like to enjoy over the next few days. Adventurous families will delight in the number of thrilling activities on offer, including kite surfing, diving or snorkelling*. Deep-sea fishing excursions can also be arranged in search of the elusive marlin. For those who wish to relax, enjoy your villa’s private pool, head to the nearby beach for sundowners, or indulge in a massage spa treatment. Other more educational and community-driven experiences include marine Education Center visits, and visits to the nearby local community projects and orphanages. For families with small children, childminders are available.

Enjoy your last early morning swim in the sea and breakfast before waving a fond farewell to Kenya as you make your way back to Diani Airstrip. From here, you and your family will board your scheduled flight to Wilson Airport, where you will be picked up by a member of the Moonlight Tours Expedition team who will transfer you to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your onward flight. If time allows, before your onward flight out of Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you and your family may be able to enjoy a half-day tour of Nairobi (time dependent): A half-day private vehicle and guide will be available to your family to explore the city of Nairobi with lunch at the Tamambo at Karen Blixen, Your tour begins with a short exploration of the Karen Blixen Museum for a glimpse into the fascinating world of this pioneer coffee farmer, who achieved world fame through her highly acclaimed memoir, ‘Out of Africa’. She left Africa after a series of personal tragedies and her lovely colonial house has been preserved as a museum. Set in expansive gardens, the Karen Blixen Museum is an interesting place to wander around, Your next stop will take you to the renowned Giraffe Centre, where you will be given a rare opportunity to get up close to these gentle giants in this natural sanctuary, which was founded by Jock Leslie-Melville, the Kenyan grandson of a Scottish earl, to protect the endangered Rothschild giraffe. Here you can climb to the top of a platform and stand eye to eye with the giraffes, feed them small pellets or go for a gentle meander on a serene forest trail, After lunch, you will be transferred Hemingways Nairobi – where a refresher room has been booked for your family between 12h00 – 18h00, Once ready, a member from the Moonlight Tours Expedition team will collect you from Hemingways Nairobi and drive you and your family to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your onward flight.
