Day 1-2: Dreaming in the Delta

The safari starts at Maun airport, where you are met and check in for your "seat in place" charter to Shinde. You have arrived in the Okavango Delta! Transfer to camp and relax before the first game activity. Spend 2 nights at Shinde including your meals and locally selected beverages. Shinde is situated on a private concession that allows guided walks, Mokoro excursions, and night drives in addition to game drives and motorboat trips. This blend of environments provides the habitat for a consistently wide variety of wildlife, including the elusive sitatunga antelope and a healthy population of leopards. For the more adventurous, guided walks are also available while fishing enthusiasts will enjoy fishing for a variety of species such as tilapia and tigerfishes.

Day 3-4: Water Safari

After breakfast, transfer to the airstrip and fly to Kanana for the second part of your safari. Your 2-night stay at Kanana includes all meals and selected local beverages, as well as the game viewing activities. Situated in the Kanana Concession, the focus of activities varies with the rising and falling levels of the Okavango Delta. You can choose a game drive in open safari vehicles, with afternoon game drives often continuing into the evening. Alternatively, you may explore the crystal-clear waterways by Mokoro or motorboat, and enjoy the magnificent variety of birds, plants and reptile species found in the area. Birding is spectacular with Kanana hosting a seasonal heronry that is one of the largest in Southern Africa, a highlight that converts all visitors to avid ‘twitchers’. Guided bush walks are highly recommended as is fishing for tilapia, African pike and sharp tooth catfish.

Day 5: Homeward Bound

Your final morning in the delta’s African paradise offers the opportunity to enjoy one last breakfast before you’re flown back to Maun for your onward arrangements.
